About
A short intro, what I care about, and how I work.
Hi, I’m Deane McCullough. I build digital products with a bias for clarity, speed, and maintainability.
Most of what I make falls into a similar pattern: something in a workflow is slow, manual, or just more painful than it needs to be, and I end up building a tool to fix it.
I enjoy taking fuzzy ideas, breaking them into useful slices, and shipping them with measurable impact.
What I focus on
- Building things that feel straightforward to use, even when the problem underneath isn’t.
- Designing systems that hold up in production and are easy to reason about later.
- Knowing when automation is worth it and when it just adds noise.
- Writing clearly — whether that’s documentation, a spec, or just explaining a decision.
Outside of work
Golf and family take up most of my spare time. When I’m not on the course or with the kids I’m usually in the gym.
